Making Designs starting with Domino shape, which are cut in half to make squares, cut in half to make scaled down domino, cut in half again to make scaled down square AKA baby squares

I worked with a mixed age group to make “paper quilt” pieces. Students started with a Domino shape,  cut some  in half to make squares, cut some of those in half to make scaled down dominoes, cut some in half again to make scaled down squares ( AKA baby squares).

These weekly Weekend-Bookend posts are sort of like a snap shot of something from my studio or something that I’m thinking about, accompanied by just a small bit of writing.

I wasn’t able to get to writing a regular post this week, but this Weekend-Bookend post is something that I can get to.

“I’m going to try out posting a Weekend-Bookend image each weekend which will be sort of like a snap shot of something from my studio. These posts will be images my handmade books, drawings, details of drawings or some paper engineering that I want to show, accompanied by just a small bit of writing.”

Three little books which were made from copied, decorated paper which was then cut, nested and sewn.

These three little books were each made from one copied, decorated paper which was  cut, nested and sewn. I was playing with simplicity here as well as thinking about ways in which whole decorations can be partitioned into pages.

I’m going to try out posting a Weekend-Bookend image each weekend which will be sort of like a snap shot of something from my studio.
